AlSur y la defensa de los derechos digitales en RightsCon 2025

RightsCon es uno de los eventos más importantes del mundo en materia de derechos digitales y tecnología. Cada año, reúne a activistas, académicos, organizaciones de la sociedad civil y expertos en tecnología para debatir sobre los desafíos y avances en la protección de los derechos humanos en la era digital. En 2025, este espacio cobra aún más relevancia en un contexto donde los derechos fundamentales, tanto en el entorno físico como en el digital, están bajo amenaza en muchas partes del mundo, y América Latina no es la excepción.

Las organizaciones que formamos parte de AlSur llevaremos a RightsCon 2025 una agenda diversa y estratégica para visibilizar los principales desafíos que enfrenta la región en términos de privacidad, regulación de inteligencia artificial, derechos de las mujeres y comunidades LGTBIQ+ en entornos digitales, acceso a la justicia y la lucha contra la vigilancia masiva. En un momento donde los retrocesos en derechos digitales se han convertido en una tendencia preocupante en América Latina, estas sesiones buscarán incidir en políticas globales desde una mirada del Sur Global, promoviendo soluciones más equitativas y contextualizadas.

Los espacios de discusión en RightsCon 2025 no terminan con el evento. Esperamos que los mismos se traduzcan en acciones concretas para la defensa de los derechos digitales en América Latina. Las organizaciones de AlSur continuaremos trabajando en conjunto para impulsar políticas públicas más justas, promover marcos regulatorios equitativos y fortalecer la incidencia global desde una perspectiva del Sur Global. Seguiremos construyendo espacios de resistencia y transformación para garantizar una Internet libre, abierta y con derechos para todas las personas.
