AlSur consortium sends letter to UNESCO on the process of elaboration of guidelines for the regulation of platforms.

Since 2022, the international organization UNESCO has been promoting the process of elaboration of guidelines for the regulation of platforms, a document that is in its third version and whose last open consultation ended on June 27.

Within the framework of these consultations, the AlSur consortium, which brings together 11 civil society organizations and academia in Latin America that seek with their joint work to strengthen human rights in the digital environment in the region, sent a letter to UNESCO on June 28, 2023, expressing concerns and disagreements regarding the process of developing the Guidelines for the Regulation of Platforms.

As an active part of the debates at the international level, both on the subject and in relation to the different areas and issues of human rights in digital environments, we hope that the letter can be considered.
