How applicable are Human Rights Standards in the Context of COVID-19: A Latin American perspective on surveilling the pandemics

Al Sur wants to extend the invitation to our IGF pre-event called "How applicable are Human Rights Standards in the Context of COVID-19: A Latin American perspective on surveilling the pandemics".

In this meeting, the consortium of 11 Latin American organizations will present a preview of its project "Observatory on Surveillance Technologies and Pandemics," that has monitored the digital technologies deployed by Latin American States to monitor and collect data in their attempts to address COVID-19.

We will have international guests who will comment trends and challenges in Latin America, such as Fionnuala Ni Aolain, the UN Special Reporter for the Protection and Support of Human Rights in the Fight Against Terrorism, and who leads the COVID-19 Civic Freedom Tracker project.

The pre-event is next Monday, November 2, 2020, from 17:25 to 18:25 UTC. The meeting will be held in English.

We ask you to register in advance for the event in order to send you the meeting link as soon as the IGF provides it.
